Recommendations for Breakfast.
If
you want to do justice to the physical and mental demands
of today's world, you must do all you can to obtain and eat
natural wholefoods containing plenty of nutrients and vitamins.
Many people think that it is enough to watch their intake
of calories, as this is generally recommended. However, that
this consideration is not the only important one can be seen
in the resulting deficiencies and various other disturbances,
as well as tiredness, not to speak of sudden symptoms of illness.
It is necessary to change to natural, organic wholefoods in
order to stem the tide of environmental pollution and the
stress of our modern, unhealthy lifestyle. You can begin by
making the right start with your breakfast.
Years ago it was the custom in rural Switzerland to eat either
specially prepared sauté potatoes, polenta (a dish
made of cornmeal) or porridge. This kind of breakfast was
more nutritious, even though it can still be described as
one-sided, not balanced. Then, in Switzerland, the idea of
the now widely known 'muesli' arose, based on the nutritious
rolled oats, mues (meaning 'dish'). Muesli is a mixture of
uncooked cereal flakes with grated nuts or almonds, dried
fruit, and grated raw apples or berries.
A Special Wholefood Muesli
The experience I gained on my travels encouraged me to formulate
a special muesli that contains all the nutrients we need,
as well as many vitamins and all trace elements. It contains
cereals - wholegrain rye, wheat, oats, barley and rice - all
made into flakes. Dried, organically grown fruit enhance the
taste of the muesli besides giving it valuable fruit sugars.
Ground almonds are another ingredient.
A further addition to this nutritious muesli is rather exceptional: it is the tropical fruit known as durian, which only grows in rainforests. The natives eat this fruit for its nutritional value, giving them the strength to achieve exceptional tasks. In my own case, by eating durian I was able to keep up my energy and endurance all day long in spite of high humidity and heat. According to the season, I recommend enriching the muesli with berries, fruit and a little milk or cream; you will then have a nutritious breakfast that will keep you going even if you have to do strenuous work. Additionally, I would recommend Vital Force added to fruit juice or in a smoothie or a cup of Bambu with milk or cream.
A breakfast based on such a nutritive muesli provides the body with enough energy to cope with hard work without the need to draw on its reserves. Muesli is also an ideal food for growing children, as well as for young people who have to study or work hard.
