Q I am 65 but in the past few days I have noticed I am getting hot flushes, which I find very embarrassing. Could you please recommend something, as I thought being the age I am I was over the menopause?
A Experiencing hot flushes after the menopause may signify a histamine reaction rather than a hormonal one. I would suggest trying nettle (Urtica), either as a tea or a tincture (20 drops twice a day), as it is a good antihistamine. Try to drink plenty of water, at least a litre and a half a day, as this will help to flush the system; and notice what triggers the flushes, as often eating or drinking something unsuitable can be a contributory factor.
Q I have taken Plantago and the perforation in my left ear has healed, although the right ear has not. I find Plantago great for catarrh and take it every evening, just 15 drops. Is this ok as long term use?
A I am pleased to hear that Plantago has helped to heal your ear. You can take Plantago for as long as you wish to. There is no time limit.
Q For at least two months I have had puffiness under my right eye. It feels very full and blocked. I am unsure what to do about this and would appreciate your advice on this matter.
A There can be several causes to this type of problem. Make sure that you are drinking plenty of water, as puffy eyes can be an indication of sluggish kidneys. You may also have sinus problems, which should benefit from taking Plantago. Also avoid dairy products, as these can be very mucus forming. It may be that you have had some stress or injury to the neck and shoulders; if so, you could consider craniosacral treatment.
